The Childbirth Center Joins Quality Improvement Project

Evidenced-Based Hospital Breastfeeding Initiative

Supported by the Washington State Perinatal Collaborative

  • Breastfeeding is universally recognized as a low-cost intervention that protects the health of mothers and babies while reducing healthcare costs.
  • Research shows that one key predictor of long term success with breastfeeding is getting off to a good start during the hospital stay.
  • We are committed to keep on pace with national efforts to improve breastfeeding support.
  • Joining this initiative will complement our in-depth staff breastfeeding education, and inpatient and outpatient lactation support.
